Malcolm Maclean, MB BCh, MRCS, LRCP
Fluent in English, French, Arabic (basic)
Dr Malcolm Maclean, a graduate of Cambridge
and Westminster Hospital Medical Schools joins us from London
where he was in Family Practice in Denmark Hill, working closely
with departments of Kings College Hospital, University of
London.
As well as UK qualification, he has passed
the US exam for medical graduates who are not US citizens
(ECFMG). He is registered with the General Medical Council,
London and submits himself to annual testing of professional
competency by the UK Regulatory Authority.
For nearly twenty years he was with the Edinburgh
Child Health Service and during this time undertook research
aimed at more fully understanding factors which promote health
in pregnancy. He was delighted to receive acknowledgement
from the Cambridge Vice-Chancellor that this study had merited
the award of a research degree (MD.)
He is no stranger to the Middle East:
he worked in Kuwait for several years where he took a
special interest in Tropical Diseases as expressed in the
Gulf Region.
Dr. Noman
Lakhani, MBBS, DIP Child Health

As a professional staff member of the GMC group, Dr.
Lakhani is currently based at the Green Community Medical
Center as a Family Practitioner. Following his graduation in
1994 Dr Lakani has worked in a variety of heath care settings
that have expanded his knowledge and skills in both general
and pediatric medicine.
While Dr Lakani offers comprehensive, quality care for
patients of all ages his inherent affection for children, has
guided him into developing a special interest in pediatric
medicine. As a chosen specialty this field of medicine
together with his experience in General Practice not only
allows him the opportunity of treating a wide range of medical
conditions, but also and most importantly, allows him to treat
families as a whole.
With am emphasis on preventive care Dr Lakani seeks to
build trusting and lasting relationships with his patients,
encouraging them to ask questions and express their concerns
freely and in confidence.

and concern that so many of his patients find reassuring.
Elizabeth Driver RN,
RM, Dip He Midwifery (UK)
Fluent in English
As a registered nurse, midwife (and proud mum),
with over 30 years experience in providing maternity care
and education, Elizabeth has a passion for all and any project
that will improve the care of mothers and their families.
Leaving the UK National Health Service in 1983,
with the words 'you'll be back' ringing in her ears, Elizabeth
ventured to Dubai for a short two year contract. However recognizing
the need to provide local and expatriate women with midwifery
care, in conjunction with the readily available obstetric
led care, Elizabeth now offers women and their families care
and advice as would be expected from any midwifery led unit
in the UK.
Having worked in the Ministry of Health, Department
of Health and the private sector Elizabeth has gained a significant
insight into the maternity care available in Dubai. Helping
families gain better life experiences during their pregnancy,
childbirth and postnatal events underlies all that Elizabeth
now strives to achieve.
